Inhibition of CO<inf>2</inf> corrosion at high temperatures and pressures
Abstract:
CO2 corrosion of carbon steel P-110 grade commonly used in well completion, was characterized using electrochemical techniques developed for high temperature and high pressure in autoclaves. The effect of CO2 partial pressure, temperature, exposure time and fluid velocity upon this carbon steel corrosion was also studied. Finally, an electrochemical technique was used to determine the inhibition efficiency of 7 commercial corrosion inhibitors recommended for this application.
