Initiatives to face the logistic challenges of the clean fuel age: A software selection case

Abstract:

A study was carried out to propose a process for the selection of an appropriate software to support the diagnostics and evaluation of the petroleum logistic systems. The Venezuelan oil industry was used as a study case. Through the application of the methodology to 44 commercially available software system, it was possible to select one Discrete-Event software that fits best to the specific needs of this oil industry, and support the decision with a convincing sensitivity analysis. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 7th World Congress of Chemical Engineering (Glasgow, Scotland 7/10-14/2005).
