Innovation and technology in the ecuadorian textile industry


Abstract:

This article analyzes the use of technologies and the innovation levels in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from textile industry in Ecuador. The method used is descriptive and correlational through the use of a logistic regression model. The sample is formed by 1665 MSMEs of the Ecuadorian textile industry. In the results, the enterprises were characterized and analyzed based on the relationship between four technology variables (use of technologies in production, human resources, finances, and marketing/advertising) and product innovation, process innovation, marketing innovation and organizational innovation. Logistic regression models have been developed for each type of innovation and its association with the use of technologies in MSMEs.
