Innovative strategies for teaching-learning: an experience in the social sciences

Abstract:

The objective of this work is to demonstrate how using various learning strategies supported by the inquiry-based learning methodology is motivating for undergraduate students. The inquiry-based learning methodology is one of the methods that allows students to be actors of their own learning, strengthens their confidence and contributes to their professional training since they are the ones who must investigate and from the diversity of information select what they want. it is more appropriate for the subject and its professional field, always guided by its teacher; through this methodology the student builds his own knowledge. For the investigation, we worked with 12 students in the subject of Corporate Social Responsibility of the Accounting and Auditing career. The deductive and inductive method, the observation technique and an observation sheet with questions as an instrument were used to validate whether the inquiry-based learning methodology is valid in the social sciences. The results show that it is feasible for students to develop different skills than when classes are taught where the teacher is the center of the teaching-learning process.
