Análisis de infiltraciones en la presa de Mazar, mediante los métodos de prospección geofísica: geoeléctricos y sísmicos
Abstract:
The Mazar dam is one of the most important in the country; it is "concrete-face rock-fill" SHELL type. This type of dams, when containing walls of filtering material, allows the passage of water to avoid internal pressures. The study area of the project was carried out according to the characteristics of the dam; from the access road downstream to a walkway at the beginning of the structural shell upstream with the aim of detecting the areas of greatest infiltration within the dam. This is accomplished by interpreting geophysical profiles and internal composition of the dam; Seismic and electrical studies were carried out using the refraction method and multichannel analysis in the first case and Wenner-Schlumberger in the second. The seismic results obtained in this study determined the internal building material with close characteristics to the materials specified in the construction profiles provided by the CELEC company. EP, depending on the velocities Vp and Vs. Through the electrical tests, possible areas of higher flow concentration were identified. With these results, it is proposed to perform geophysical tests on a regular basis to evaluate a possible progressive increase in these areas.
