Integrated Modeling of Medium and Low Voltage Networks for the Calculation of Energy Losses


Abstract:

Considering the Ecuadorian Electricity Sector has modernized its electrical infrastructure and considering that already exists systems such as Geographical Information System-GIS-, Advanced Distribution Management System-ADMS-, Customer Information System-CIS-, Supervisory Control, and Data Acquisition-SCADA-, among others, already deployed. It has been possible for planning technicians to venture in new methodologies that allow a better analysis of the behavior of distribution systems-DS-. Thus, on, CENTROSUR (Cuenca's utility) has been working on the integration of the different sources of information currently available, in order to consolidate them and this information serves as an input to the unified distribution network modeling software (CYMDIST), which will provide an accurate network model for doing technical analysis. This paper presents the main results of this modeling.
