Intelligent systems applied to the control of a distilling binary column
Abstract:
The Intelligent control systems have allowed successes in the field of process control, especially in cases that are very complex to monitor such as a binary distillation column. Therefore, in this article they are considered proposes to solve this problem by finding the transfer functions coupled and uncoupled of the system, allowing indicate the advantages of using transfer functions coupled and uncoupled. Then they consider two control strategies based on the classic (PID) and one in the innate qualities of the fuzzy logic. These controllers were designed from the data obtained of an article published in an event of the IFAC, which aims to control some of the most critical parameters of a binary distillation column. To achieve this is used the platform MATLAB®, that is a software widely used in universities. Finally, we compare which of the two controllers gave the best result.
