Interactive geo-location based service application as pervasive computing through mobile devices
Abstract:
There has been intense research activity in the last decade, in the field of Ubiquitous Computing, since it is a model of interaction, which integrates the processing of information with the people´s daily activities. This current study focuses on the implementation of a three-tier architecture application of geolocation in real time through mobile devices, in order to facilitate the mobility of people within a university campus. For the route generation, we have implemented an A* search algorithm, which includes the uniform cost plus heuristics. The routes have been corroborated using the polynomial interpolation model applying the LaGrange Method. These data will subsequently be stored in a cloud database server within a Client/Server architecture. The obtained results demonstrate the functionality of this application since it optimizes times and technological resources, where the user improves his mobility through defined routes. During the validation, the statistical determination of relative dispersion has been used for the data, which considers only the magnitude and is called the Coefficient of Variation, allowing the comparison of the variability of two sets of data.
