Interactive multimedia as support for the therapy of infants with dyslalia


Abstract:

One of the learning problems of infants is dyslalia, a disorder characterized by difficulty in pronouncing and recognizing various phonemes, which causes both educational and emotional affectations, which is reflected in infants of the Mocache-Quevedo Educational District of Ecuador. The objective of the work was to determine the academic performance of infants with dyslalia disorder when using an interactive multimedia application. The research was exploratory, carried out on a group of infants from an institution in the aforementioned educational district using a situational test with an assessment method with pictograms, word comprehension, sentence comprehension and an oral test, the infants used it for two months. the interactive multimedia application and at the end a test similar to the initial one was applied. To obtain results, a linear model was used with the Tableau computer program, since the greatest difficulties that arise are in the articulation of phonemes; generating complications to read and write. It is concluded that the interactive multimedia application constitutes a support element for the therapy of infants with dyslalia, useful for improving the development of vocabulary and the ability to associate images, audios and videos.
