Intercultural Communication, Identity, and Social Movements in the Digital Age

Abstract:

As transnational scholars, our main goal was to curate global pieces that tackle the different aspects of intercultural identity and social activism within digital domains. Therefore, we used a number of international listservs and platforms to publicize our call for chapters. Our efforts and the resulting book demonstrate the importance of new media technologies in the lives of transnational communication scholars. Digital communication with our chapter authors from distant and not-so-distant spaces has been quick and effective. Our authors’ geographic locations span the globe: Australia, Denmark, Ecuador, Indonesia, Italy, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the United States. Collectively, these authors examine different global cultural issues, identity performances, and social movements.
