Internal control as a tool for efficiency in financial management in supermarkets in Azogues

Abstract:

Given the complexity of today’s world, organizations need to operate efficiently. The objective of this article is to describe internal control as a tool to achieve efficiency in financial management in supermarkets in Azogues-Ecuador. The research was descriptive with a non-experimental design, emphasizing quantitative analysis. To obtain the results, the survey technique was implemented. The results reveal that in the supermarkets of the city of Azogues there is a culture of financial planning as well as the implementation of internal control. It is concluded that there are weaknesses in the organizations studied related mainly to the disclosure of control mechanisms, risk assessment and application of preventive control instead of corrective.
