Intracranial pressure responses to alterations in arterial carbon dioxide pressure in patients with head injuries

Abstract:

✓ Cerebral vasomotor responses to alterations in arterial carbon dioxide (PaCO 2 ), as manifested by intraventricular pressure changes, were studied in a group of patients with head injuries. These patients could be classified into three types based on various degrees of responsiveness thought to reflect the integrity of their cerebral vasomotor reactivity.
