Introduction: Special issue about psychosocial impact after the march eleven terrorist attacks in madrid

Abstract:

This special issue shows several studies about the March 11 terrorist attacks in Madrid. This research allows the understanding of the psychosocial processes underlying the collective resilience after M-11. The papers approach the psychosocial effects of the participation in demonstrations (Jimenez et al.), inter-group relationships after the attacks (Techio & Calderon), the black sheep effect after the events (Mendoza et al.), the perception of risk, and the emotional reactions after the terrorist impact (Ubillos et al.). Also, the phenomenon of collective guilt (Echevarria et al.), the psycho-political reactions (Moya & Morales-Marente), the influence of communication processes on the general elections of M-14 (Lopez-Saez & Martinez-Rubio), and the socio-cultural model of the rituals (Paez et al.) are analysed. Finally, a review of the book by Blanco, del Aguila and Sabucedo, (2005) is included. © 2005 by Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje.
