Isozymic identification of Lutzomyia pseudolongipalpis, new vector species of visceral leishmaniasis in Venezuela. Technical note

Abstract:

Lutzomyia pseudolongipalpis, new vector species of visceral leishmaniasis (LV) reported for Venezuela, must be identified taxonomically by two criteria: morphological characters should be used for a preliminary differentiation, and secondly, be used isoenzymic markers (adenylate kinase and hexokinase), for species within the complex species Lutzomyia longipalpis, for taxonomic validation.
