Key factors in the formalization of a management model to foster the sustainable development of rural associative companies: A study of agricultural production societies in Ecuador

Abstract:

In the field of rural economy, business association has experienced a significant development in Ecuador, causing a shift from primary activities to the production and provision of services. This situation has been substantially influenced by various incentives and government policies, whose implementation has been carried out based on a plan oriented to improve the quality of life in the rural sector. However, despite government's efforts aimed at supporting this type of organization, there is still inefficiency in the administrative management performed by agents of this type of commercial societies, which has a major impact on the results achieved. The aforementioned issue was analyzed by studying a rural company located in the province of Zamora Chinchipe (south of Ecuador). Additionally, we established a management model that encompasses the four phases of the administrative process adapted to the environment.
