Knowledge and practice of ergonomic risks in nursing staff
Abstract:
Introduction: The state of well-being at work can be affected in many ways and could cause mental damage or physical effort, ergonomic factors are enough to generate long-term problems such as: scoliosis due to poor posture, osteoarthritis, low back pain and stress due to work overload among others. Objective: To identify the knowledge and practices of ergonomic risks in the nursing staff of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in the city of Cuenca - Ecuador. Materials and methods: It is a quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study, the research population was 188 nurses from the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in the city of Cuenca, of which the sample taken was 120 professionals. The information collected was through the ERGOPAR questionnaire, the SPSS 15 program was used to categorize the information. Results: The present study revealed that the level of knowledge of the personnel is within a medium level that corresponds to 63.3% and with reference to the practices there is a medium compliance (62.5%). Conclusions: With the results obtained, we can interpret that the level of knowledge and practices is within an average level, with a similarity between the variables.
