Análisis de la calidad de vida del barrio Nuevo Plio año 2006 al 2015

Abstract:

In the 80s, irregular human settlements that were located in different areas of the city of Machala were registered; as a result of these invasions, Nuevo Pilo Neighborhood was born in the southern part of city. The population of this neighborhood constructed their houses on water bodies where part of the sewage of the city was located. Similar to the object of this study, there is still the existence of a stream of wastewater discharge; and due to nitrates that are generated by the decomposition of the wastewater, environmental pollution that is detrimental to the health of its people occurs. Furthermore, a section of this channel was intubated, improving environmental and landscape conditions of the surroundings, but there are still sectors of this watercourse that remains sky opened and families live on top of it, in fragile homes and precarious conditions. Over the years, people living in those places have benefited from works; but there is no evidence of significant changes in their quality of life, because there are situations that have not been considered, programs that need to be implemented in order to obtain satisfactory results that will improvepeople’s values, principles, self-esteem and education. Therefore, educational, social and health related aspects of housing were investigated through scientific methods, with the support of Venezuelan Health Sub-Centres and the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) Ecuador, which permits the reliability of both the work performed and its results.
