Abstract:

Mining exploitation in the country arises as a form of economic development for some families, however, in reality the activity brings with it contamination and consequences that in turn generates a double impact on the health and social development of the community. or the city where it takes place. In view of the economic contribution from the mining activity, cash flow and support, it is important to study from the level of infrastructure involved, minimal investment by the State, to evaluate the impact through the level of income in the public and private. This investigative work corresponds to a mining area, the Ponce Enríquez Canton, characterized by having deposits of high mineral content that are commercialized by the jewelry industry. And the fact is that natural resources have a limit, they are not infinite even in the indicated region, which is why it was necessary to carry out a study on their exploitation to contrast it with local economic development; Well, within the canton a footprint that mining has created is perceived and it is perceived that there are beneficial economic advantages in the canton, because they have generated sources of employment for the population. However, when analyzing the tangible and concrete reality contributed by the economic and mining growth in the canton, from a descriptive approach and using an inductive method showing the most relevant characteristics and results of the problem, it shows us relationships of a situational phenomenon, growth not very sustainable, since it ecologically affects the region; This leads to planning from the perceptions of the authors an optimal integrator between economic and ecological development.
