La percepción social del cambio climático en la ciudad de Loja

Abstract:

The present research describes the perception that the habitants of the city of Loja have with respect to the climate change and analyze the main measures of mitigation and adaptation that must be applied in the environment in order to reduce the negative effects of the climate change, with the purpose of knowing whether the fight against this environmental problem is part of the daily life of the city of Loja habitants. Therefore, with the intention of getting primary information, random surveys about the perception of the climate change directed to people over 18 years old. The main results show that: the majority whom were surveyed, with a 55,6%, know about the climate change, or, know the reasons why it is caused; meanwhile, the 44,4% does not have any knowledge. Regarding the main measure of adaptation, the 80% of the respondents think that the education is the main measure of adaptation and mitigation to face the climate change; On the other hand, the 82,5% of the people who took the survey are aware of the importance of protecting the environment in their work or daily tasks.
