The main problem of the rural sector in Ecuador is poverty and inequality. Therefore, the objective of this work was focused on identifying the levels of poverty and inequality in the rural sector of Ecuador, as well as analyzing the factors that affect that this situation is maintained. The methodology used in the research is quantitative-descriptive and it was done through the collection of data and reports of the official bodies such as: The World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses. It is evident that the levels of these phenomena in the country have had a significant decrease but despite this, the difference between sectors is very noticeable because the urban-rural gap is still a problem that persists until today, because the access to Services such as education, health, employment and housing are very unequal in these areas. This study also seeks to encourage managers who implement socio-economic policies, to continue with the duty to examine new tactics and methods in order to put an end to lack and inequality and that this vulnerable sector has the Necessary requirements such as education, health, housing and employment, which are fundamental to achieve the economic development of the country.
