La producción y exportación de pitahaya como alternativa de desarrollo del cantón Palora, provincia de Morona Santiago

Abstract:

The main objective of this titration work is to carry out an evaluation of the production and export of pitahaya as an alternative development for the Palora canton, province of Morona Santiago. The methodology for the development of the research is descriptive and is based on the information provided by public and private institutions that are related to the subject of work, including the Central Bank of Ecuador (ECB), Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries (MAGAP), the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC), the municipal GAD of the Palora canton and the Pitahayeros Association. The method used is the inductive deductive, which allows explaining the objectives and deny or approve the hypothesis. The result of the investigation shows us that in the Palora Canton is where the highest volumes of pitahaya are grown and produced, the same that is destined to the national and international market. It is also concluded that to improve the quality of life of the population of the canton it is necessary to encourage the production and commercialization of pitahaya.
