La relación entre el desarrollo y la competitividad a nivel cantonal en Ecuador en el año 2010.

Abstract:

This research is to determine the relationship between regional development and competitiveness for the 221 cantons of Ecuador for 2010, based on the Williamson´s hypothesis. In order to bring off this objective wich take as dependent variable Valor Agregado Bruto (VAB) which is proxy to regional development and as independent variable to the Competitiveness Index which considerer twelve pillars of social, economic and institutional aspect of the different space points to get it the method of Minimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO) is handled. The results show that greater competitiveness index, positively influences in the cantonal level development. The hypothesis is accepted because the relationship of these variables is significant and greater competitiveness index leads to improve the level of development.
