Labor dysgongonomy in industrial plants in Ecuador

Abstract:

Musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) is common in the workplace, affecting muscles, intervertebral discotheques, cartilage, bones, tendons or ligaments. These work-related injuries are related to the physical activity of the operator. Objective: To determine the TMEs that affect the shoulders, neck, back and limbs, by exposure to the different tasks of the operator of the crude production plants. Material and method: Based on an initial diagnosis and the method for calculating the finite sample of operators, it is possible to determine the types of occupational clinical pathology by exposure. Procedure: The characterization by musculoskeletal pathology is analyzed by means of the Nordic Questionnaire of Kuorinka, establishing data on osteomuscular symptoms, and the application of the qualitative method, according to the biometric and biomechanical postures of the body in easy tasks. Results: 8 out of 10 operators, clinical picture classified as low back pain. However, 7 of 10, obvious tendinitis and, 6 of 10, painful pain of carpal tunnel syndrome. Conclusion: These clinical traumas, cause labor absenteeism, because, in many cases they can cause poor production performance. Therefore, the prevention of pathologies should be treated with epidemiological surveillance with an emphasis on postural biometrics.
