Laboratories: A resource for journalistic innovation
Abstract:
Constant transformations in structure and market projected by the media have allowed their informative agenda to adapt to constant technological advances. Therefore, one of the keys that the media currently offers, through new narratives focused on the digital world, is innovation. The article analyzes the existence of a data laboratory in informative newsrooms, as per case study to La Nación Data (Argentina), The New York Times (USA) and Diario de Navarra (Spain). A mixed methodology based on the observation of these cases is used and its objective is to know the best innovative practices that the media possess related to the analysis, publication and visualization of data. The innovation implemented from digitalization, where the user is the only protagonist, to explore hypermedia content that brings potential challenges and needs to be fulfilled.
