Lactic acid study in crossfit: Application in four training sessions
Abstract:
Introduction: Lactic acid is an organic compound implicit in muscle activity, which is why it is usually an indicator in prescription and evaluation of physical exercise. Objective: To perform a comparative analysis of lactate in four CrossFit training sessions, assessing the process effect before, during and after the end of each training sesión. Methods: Lactate accumulation is studied in 10 male athletes (20-33 years) during four sessions or tests that make up a training microcycle, tests are performed before, during and after each session. Results: All phases of lactate studied in each session were significantly different (p = 0.00 0), showing the training effectiveness, including the comparison of the last two tests (Lactate Immediately Completed Exercise and Lactated in Passive Recovery), while the independent comparison of each phase of the lactate levels with those obtained in each session determined the absence of significant differences (Phase One: Lactate at Rest: p = 0.582; Phase Two: Lactate Immediately Completed Exercise: p = 0.110; Phase Three: Lactate Phase in Passive Recovery: p = 0.744). Conclusions: The research shows an acceptable index of organic recovery before starting each of the four tests, and a similar recovery index as part of passive lactate measurement 10 minutes after the exercise end or training session. Studying the effects of the hypoxia in non-adapted organisms under a training regime similar to present investigation is recommend in the future.
