Lessons on multidimensional poverty for Colombia and Ecuador

Abstract:

This article aims to make a contrast in the calculation of multidimensional poverty between Ecuador and Colombia. The aim is to verify analytically if the methodologies implemented are considered valid to specify socio-economic inequalities by thresholds. The results show greater concentrations of deprivation of dimensions in both countries, establishing that public policies are necessary to counteract the restrictions and reach the necessary threshold point that determines each country free of multidimensional poverty.
