Level of knowledge of zoonosis in a sector of the city of Ambato


Abstract:

An investigation on the level of knowledge of zoonoses was carried out through population surveys between an age range of 14 to 19 years in the province of Tungurahua, taking into account the urban area with a result of 77.5% and in the rural area of 22.5%, the survey showed that 71% of the respondents were of an average of 17 years in the city of Ambato with 64.5% with the highest index, the ignorance of zoonotic diseases in this population is 76%, the Most of the respondents have pets with dogs with a percentage of 58.71%, hygiene such as hand washing is not performed properly; The contact of feces and urine in the studied population is 13%, 75% have their pets under veterinary control, 94.5% of the surveyed population considers that it is necessary to know more about the diseases caused by animals.
