Linear periodic systems: Time-invariant equivalents.


Abstract:

The possible time-invariant system equivalents to periodic ones, either in continuous-time or discretized form, are considered. First, the well-known Floquet-Lyapunov theorem and its application are summarized. The relation between continuous-time and discretized models allow an algorithm to be proposed for the computation of time-invariant equivalents to any linear continuous time periodic system. For discretized systems, a novel approach is presented. Although the final equivalent system is overdimensioned, its suitability for multirate sampled-data systems is clear.
