Livestock impacts on the socioeconomic and territorial dynamics: An analysis from Puerto Quito, Ecuador


Abstract:

This article investigates the socioeconomic and territorial effects caused by pecuarization. For this, a mixed research was designed in Puerto Quito, Ecuador. The results show that pecuarization helps generate stable income, but that its impact is causing a decrease in the profitability of the fields, thus affecting the local economic and productive system. It is concluded that the public and private sector must generate strategies that allow the development of sustainable and productive livestock farming.
