Los estereotipos étnicos representados en las ilustraciones del texto de ciencias sociales del segundo año de educación general básica de la editorial Prolipa.
Abstract:
The purpose of this work is to establish the illustrations of the school textbook of the second year of EGB from the publishing house Prolipa that have ethnic stereotype factors that determine the reproduction and progress of inequality and labeling of certain ethnic groups established as minorities and endowing them with certain characteristics that they are not real or contrasted. This study aims to identify what types of illustrations reinforce ethnic stereotypes and how these are transmitted indirectly or directly to students who view them daily within class hours through the school text. To answer the question that originated the research: What ethnic stereotypes are represented in the illustrations of the text of Social Sciences of the publishing house Prolipa? We worked under a qualitative and quantitative methodological approach, specifically the synthetic analytical method was applied that gave way to the bibliographic review of texts and scientific articles, using description as a technique; and the data matrix instrument. From the results obtained, it is highlighted that the illustrations of the Social Sciences text of the second year of Basic General Education reproduce ethnic stereotypes towards the indigenous and black people of Ecuador because they create action assumptions that these ethnic groups can only fulfill in a certain context.
