A Dynamic Sliding Mode Controller using a Rotating Type Moving Sliding Surface for Chemical Processes with Variable Delay

Abstract:

This document shows the synthesis of a dynamic sliding mode control by means of a rotating type moving surface based on fuzzy logic concepts. The proposed controller is applied by simulations in a chemical process that presents variable deadtime and is compared with other sliding mode controller approaches through the performance indexes of the system: ISE, ITSE, ISCO, and settling time. The results obtained show an improvement of the proposed proposal, such as reduction of chattering in the control signal and a lower value in the settling time and in the performance indices of the ISE and ITSE system without an increment in the ISCO.
