M-learning, a path to ubiquitous learning in higher education in Ecuador


Abstract:

The unstoppable inclusion of technologies in learning has led to new ways of doing education. M-learning or mobile learning, appears breaking the traditional standards of teaching. The present investigation evaluates the application of M-learning to ubiquitous learning in higher education in Ecuador, in the computer career of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Guayaquil; a non-experimental descriptive type study was carried out, with 120 students and 20 teachers, a structure survey was applied with 22 questions and 10 items. The results: 97% of respondents use their mobile devices in academic activities, of which 41% is about the search for immediate information; 37%, easy to generate notes; 22% participation in virtual forums; 97% of teachers, the application of M-learning promotes personalized and collaborative learning, 89% believe that its use improves academic performance. It was concluded, the M-learning, marks the way to ubiquitous learning, overcoming the limitations of time and space.
