METHODOLOGY FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE QUALITY OF THE MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMS AT THE UNIVERSIDAD REGIONAL AUTÓNOMA DE LOS ANDES


Abstract:

The postgraduate has achieved great relevance in recent years due to the high demand for training of third level professio-nals, so it is necessary to ensure high quality standards. This work is carried out with the purpose of proposing a methodology for the evaluation of the quality of the master’s degree programs offered at the Universidad Regional Autonoma de Los Andes, Ecuador. The expert method is used to select the components and quality standards that should be included in the methodology, in addition, a survey is applied to teachers and students to know the acceptance of the proposal. The experts analyze postgraduate quality models from a group of countries and select seven components and 49 standards for the evaluation of the quality of master’s degrees. Finally, teachers and students value the proposed methodology very positively.
