MYTH OR REALITY? CITIZEN INSECURITY IN THE URBAN PARISH “ALPA-CHACA”, IN IBARRA-ECUADOR

Abstract:

The Ecuadorian government will guarantee citizen security through integrated policies and actions, to ensure the peaceful coexistence of people; therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the situation of citizen security, based on the legal regulations of the state. Theoretical and empirical research methods were applied, which allowed collecting and analyzing information about the object. As a result, it was obtained that the parish is unsafe, since the harmonious living of the inhabitants is affected by the crimes that are committed, which generates fear in people and affects their daily activities. It is concluded that citizen security is a right, established in the Ecuadorian legal regulations, but in this parish it is not complied with due to the different criminal acts that take place there; therefore, a lecture plan was elaborated with the purpose of making the population aware of their right to a safe life as established by the law in Ecuador and that they can exercise this right.
