Abstract:

The objective of this research was to investigate the management and use of agricultural land in the rural area of Canton Chilla of the Dumarí site and to analyze the socioeconomic incidence, where a survey was carried out with simple random sampling of 15 agricultural producers with questions of socioeconomic condition, as well as an interview with five people where the methodology of management and use of land of the FAO was used. In terms of land use and management, 66.66% allocate to the planting of pasture as primary food for livestock, which causes an affection to the soil and water resource with moderate consequences, while damage caused by extensive livestock activity to the soil and the environment are serious consequences as erosion and soil degradation. It is concluded that the producers involved are interested in participating in contingency and mitigation plans to achieve sustainable agricultural soil management in the study area, which requires the immediate implementation of agricultural and social policies by the municipal GAD and the decentralized autonomous government of the province of El Oro.
