Manipulability in logic-based fusion of belief bases: Indexes vs. liftings

Abstract:

In this paper, we will compare the notion of manipulability related to indexes introduced by Everaere et al. with the notion of manipulability related to liftings, established by Mata Díaz and Pino Pérez, both in the framework of Logic-based fusion. More specifically, we show that for the case of aggregation-based integrity constraints merging operators and in some particular cases, manipulability via lifting is more general than manipulability via indexes. Moreover, for the drastic and the Hamming distances, we establish some sufficient and necessary conditions of strategy-proofness for sum, max and generalized max operators with respect to the possibilistic lifting and one refine of this: the refined possibilistic lifting. In order to do this, the concept of belief bases profile is expressed in a vectorial context, different to the multisets profile, used in the Konieczny-Pino Pérez framework (KPP).
