Mapping the literature on land use planning, a bibliometric review


Abstract:

The use of bibliometric mapping for land use planning determined the trend of authors, keywords, featured citations, geographical location and high-impact researchers. Reviewing 470 english documents indexed, peer-reviewed and published in Scopus from 1982 to 2020; evidenced the contribution of 63 countries, 75.26% increase in articles published from 2010 to 2020 in 29 years of study Authors from the Netherlands stand out with 72 scientific articles according to the results of VOSViewer and geographic information systems. Accelerated changes in land use, urban growth and climate change affect socio-cultural variables, economic and environmental planning being the planning of the use of the land a strength by the spatial analysis, risk assessment and regional planning for the implementation of public policies to support decision-making of governments in achieving sustainable development goals.
