Measurement and Remote Monitoring of Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Generated by Batteries Using IoT

Abstract:

This article details the implementation of a telemetry system based on LoRa communication technology to transmit measurement data obtained through a wireless sensor network. The network was made up of four transceiver nodes and a Gateway. The system has been suitable to obtain readings of hydrogen sulfide gas H2S generated by batteries installed in forklift systems operating in logistics environments. A low-cost visualization platform was developed using the TTN (The Things Network) tool to present the measurement data to the user. Through the platform, the user can observe the data collected in a practical panel to build their applications. It was quantitatively verified that the levels of hydrogen sulfide gas H2S generated by the batteries exceed the allowed limit.
