Mental Health Conditions Under the Home Office Modality Due to Covid-19 in Employees of a Bottling Company in Ecuador


Abstract:

Due to the pandemic originated by Covid-19, it’s important to implement studies in the area of mental health in the working population. The objective of the present study is to describe the mental health condition of home office during the Covid-19 pandemic in employees of a bottling company in Ecuador. The study was descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional, the study sample is made up of 245 participants, it was developed, validated (by an expert judgment) and a questionnaire with questions regarding mental health was applied. The results showed that 66.3% of men and 77.3% of women feel that they work longer than before the pandemic, while 39.8% of men and 54.0% of women consider that their level of fatigue has increased during home office. Respondents consider physical factors as limiting in the complete development of work activities, including technological means, internet service, and space in the home. It is important to continue this study since there is currently no culmination date for the Covid-19 pandemic and that the work situations of employees are directly affected.
