Methodological proposals for interdisciplinary research as social interaction

Abstract:

Contextualized in the interdisciplinary research program Oralidad Modernidad and some of its projects, this chapter reflects on the methodological procedures of linguistic-cultural documentation-revitalization processes developed in Ecuador within contact situations. After briefly describing some general information about the country and about previous research projects which have been crucial to the methodological approaches described here, I pinpoint some key concepts, and illustrate active documentation processes with one of the projects developed by Oralidad Modernidad, "Andean Voices and Ancestral Knowledge" (Fase I). Finally, I share some reflections and challenges we need to take into account when developing community centered research projects.
