Methodology for process mapping from the perspective of KnowledManagement: PMI-SC case study

Abstract:

Many organizations lack the definition and standardization of their processes, making the execution of business activities more time consuming and costly. In addition, the proposals for the mapping of processes in general emphasize the technical execution of the process, leaving aside the knowledge management in the process. The aim of the study was to propose a methodology for mapping business processes from the perspective of knowledge management. The qualitative methodology consisted of conducting bibliographic research, document analysis and case study. As for the knowledge management process, the APO model (2020) was considered, which includes five stages: identifying, creating, storing, sharing and applying knowledge. The study resulted in a proposal for mapping business processes from the perspective of knowledge management, allowing the establishment of the main practices in each of the phases of the knowledge management process in the institution.
