Methodology of teaching and learning in cloud computing technologies: A case study in the career of electronic engineering and communication networks of the “universidad técnica del norte”


Abstract:

This article exposes the design and implementation of a Virtual Learning Environment (EVA) at Engineering Career in Electronics and Communication Networks, at “Universidad Técnica del Norte”, Ibarra-Ecuador, referring to the study area Cloud Computing (CC), the same one that considers: the Moodle Learning Management System designed according to the guidelines established by the PACIE learning methodology (Presence, Scope, Training, Interaction, E-learning); Its content is based on the information of six degree projects that were part of the Cloud Computing project launched at the Faculty of Engineering in Applied Sciences of the UTN, which has been complemented and transformed into EVA teaching material in order to disseminate the studies case and contribute knowledge for the students of the career on the subject. The research is descriptive and documentary, covering the following topics in the EVA: (i) Basic Fundamentals of Cloud Computing; (ii) Infrastructure of a TIER I Data Center under the TIA 942 standard; (iii) Openstack Infrastructure as a Service; (iv) Opennebula Infrastructure as a Service (v) Eucalyptus Infrastructure as a Service.
