Micronutrients in the daily food ration Footballers Team Manta FC, U16, Ecuador

Abstract:

Introduction: The significant deviation of consumption generates potential micronutrient deficiency states that limit athletic performance in adolescent soccer players. Objective: To determine the contribution of micronutrients in the daily food ration Footballers FC U16 Manta, Ecuador team. Methods: Descriptive observational study of members of the football team sub 16 Manta, exploring the micronutrient content in the GDR, with the use of the survey of dietary intake by 24-hour recall. Determining micronutrient food is performed by Ceres + system, calculating the content of vitamins lipid and water soluble, and the presence of minerals in it. FESNAD - those provided by the Spanish Federation of Nutrition, Food and Dietetics are used as reference values. Results: Insufficiencies in the incorporation of vitamins A, E, Thiamine, Riboflavin and Folic Acid, while Niacin, Pyridoxine and C are detected exceed it, it is last with exceptions values. In the case of minerals like irregularity occurs consumption except Copper. Discussion: Team members have a break between micronutrient intake and reference values, affecting potential of their metabolic processes not observed in the present study. Conclusions: Micronutrients in the GDR are significantly depressed and shows the condition of hidden hunger, while the apparent healthy condition is the result of a selective micronutrient economy led to an adaptive condition on the support of critical metabolic functions in the short term.
