A Low-Cost Automated System for Manual Resuscitator for Emergency Covid-19 Care

Abstract:

The lack of mechanical ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic and the time of import this medical equipment to Ecuador; we develop a low-cost clinical ventilator using the manual resuscitators AmbuBag. This prototype used the material that are easily buy in Ecuador, so it can be rapidly build and used by the medical person. The prototype was evaluate by three different medical groups that work in the intensive care unit (IUC) in three different hospitals. The evaluation was satisfactory and we show the building process of the equipment.
