Modeling and Ranking External Stakeholders in Open Source Software Adoption

Abstract:

Nowadays, Open Source Software (OSS) is able to support a whole set of business benefits mainly related to value and human talent management, optimization, cost reduction, knowledge generation, and process improvement. Hence, an adequate management of internal users and external stakeholders is required to achieve a successfully OSS adoption, because they impact on critical business model components like value proposal, resources, key activities or cost systems. In this context, due to the lack of support given to represent the organizational context, we propose a model and prioritization method guided by the Open Innovation paradigm, to improve planning and decision making process in earliest OSS adoption stages.
