Modeling and control of a wind energy system connected to the grid


Abstract:

Renewable energy resources seem to come to the alternative energy for electricity supplying in a near future. Photovoltaic panels and wind systems are the main prototypes that were found suitable inside the planet. Wind energy and solar energy always existing. Concentrating on the wind energy system, this paper tries to describe all of the necessary blocks of this resource and define all the necessary mathematical equations that can be used for studying this renewable energy generator. From the other side, the main proposal of this work is to control this complex system and define the useful control loop that can be applied for connecting this wind generator to the grid in onshore installations. Based on a permanent magnet synchronous generator, this system is built, and using Matlab Simulink software, the results are exposed.
