Modelo de gestión Lean Manufacturing como herramienta para mejorar la productividad en Ciauto. Cía. Ltda.
Abstract:
The present research work has been stated with the purpose of proposing a management model in order to improve the productivity in the truck assembly line at CIAUTO. Cía. Ltda. located in Ambato city. In this organization, the productivity improvement used to be developed by applying informal methods with isolated initiatives and little systematization which used to disappear in a very short time, so that their contribution to the company competitiveness was very limited. A bibliographic revision of similar research works were done in order to determine the lean manufacturing tools contribution in some organizations where the same productive systems like the one which is being studied in this investigation work were used. In addition to this, the descriptive – qualitative method was applied for the development of this research work with a finite population of 26 workstations. The instruments used were a process audit and 5Ss in order to evaluate the compliance level regarding to the standardization that contributes to the continuous improvement basis. Furthermore, a log format was implemented to register the operation time of each workstation as a main tool to accomplish the objective stated in this investigation. Hence, the information registered in the log form was used to design a bar graph which is also called swinging wall. It made possible to identify in a better way which were the workstations with a higher workload. Thus, some administration tools of lean manufacturing were used in order to reduce the higher time. These tools created a new management system that helped to the productiveness continuous improvement. The validation of the audit processes was done by experts who have an important professional track record in the automotive industry and education field.
