Module: Oscilloscope, signal generator and frequency spectrum analyzer with low cost technology


Abstract:

This article presents an alternative two-channel didactic system for DC direct current and AC alternate current with three options, oscilloscope, signal generator and frequency spectrum analyzer. The HMI (Human Machine Interface) was developed in a five-inch TFT (Liquid Crystal Display) embedded in a Raspberry 3PI model B card. The acquisition, conditioning, processing and signal generation was performed on the Artix-7 35T card which uses Xilinx’s Vivado 2018.3 platform. In the oscilloscope, the typical values of an electrical signal can be measured. The generator presents square, triangular and sinusoidal signals, with configurable characteristics. The frequency spectrum analyzer allows displaying the harmonics and the value of% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) for the various values of the natural frequency Wn.
