Monitoring System of the Main Electric Power Generation Plants Using Telecommunications Networks in Ecuador


Abstract:

The objective of this article is to present a monitoring and security system for the exteriors of the main power generation plants in Ecuador. The design of a complete telecommunications system suitable for the existing scheme that is linked to SIS ECU 911 operating in Ecuador is presented. The monitoring is done all the time through its video surveillance cameras and in addition alarms can be received of extreme increase or reduction of water levels through the network of wireless sensors installed in strategic sectors. The information generated will lead to important decisions at the level of Ecuador with the intention of protecting the goods, services and people related to the power generation systems.
