Monitoring of Air Pollution Levels with Long Range Transmission Technology
Abstract:
This research is based on the monitoring of pollutants, carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and environmental variables such as temperature and humidity, through the use of sensors configured on an Arduino board collecting data to later be processed, presenting information graphically to users interested in measuring contamination levels. Long-range technology such as LoRa was used to transfer data from the monitoring site to the platform servers. The results show that LoRa guarantees transmission capacity in the presence of obstacles indoors and outdoors. The distance traveled of 511 meters with values of-101 dBm and-107 dBm, show that LoRa with the application of any SF is feasible as an air pollution monitoring transmission system compared to traditional wireless transmission technologies.
